ORDER
The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition for a mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 22.01.2024, and to issue patta in respect of Survey No. 205/8, situated in Aathipatti Village, Aruppukottai Taluk, Virudhunagar District.
2. Based on his continuous possession and enjoyment of the land in Survey No.205/8, to an extent of 0.01.87 hectare, in Aathipatti Village, Aruppukottai Taluk, Virudhunagar District, which was classified as Natham Poramboke, the petitioner submitted a representation to the first respondent on 22.01.2024 for issuance of Natham Patta.
3. The petitioner, who is a landless poor, constructed a thatched house in the above said property and applied for grant of patta to the first respondent. The said application was received and acknowledged by the first respondent and thereafter forwarded to the second respondent. As there was no progress on the petitioner's representation, the petitioner filed the above writ petition for the aforesaid relief.
4. Though the petitioner has prayed for a consequential relief of grant of patta, in my view, it would be appropriate to direct the second
respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 22.01.2024, and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of this order. Needless to say, notice of enquiry would be issued to the petitioner, before passing orders.
5. Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. 21.01.2025 NCC :
