Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to issue passport to the petitioner based on the application in File No.MDOIC5038923322 dated 02.06.2022 within a stipulated time fixed by this Court.

Heard both sides.

2. The petitioner applied for issuance of passport. His application has been put on hold because for one person namely, the petitioner herein, two different passports have been issued by the first and second respondents. The petitioner clarifies that he had given one application and that it appears that based on his particulars, some other person had obtained passport.

3. The first respondent has sent a communication to the fourth respondent seeking report in this regard. The fourth respondent shall respond to the first respondent's e-mail and give his status report within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Based on the said report, the 2/4

first respondent will take a call. If the petitioner is found to be innocent, the passport shall be issued to the petitioner.
