ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a mandamus to direct the respondents to pass final orders on the petitioner's compliant / representation dated 15.11.2022 by holding an enquiry in terms of the notification on the Rules of procedure of the National Commission for Scheduled Caste dated 25.03.2009 within the time that may stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the first respondent.

The petitioner belongs to Scheduled Caste Community and his son had given a representation/complaint to the first respondent stating that some of the lands near the houses of their community were fenced by some third party, who is a politically influenced person and that the said person had also intimidated the petitioner. In order to remove the same 2/5

and in order to use that land, the petitioner's son had given a complaint/representation to the first respondent commission. However, since there was continuous harassment by the 2nd respondent and the third party, namely, Raviselvan, the petitioner has given a complaint to the respondent Commission on 15.11.2022. Since there was no action on the said representation/complaint, the petitioner is before this Court with this writ petition.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the fact that the complaint/representation was preferred as early as on 15.11.2022 and so far, no final orders are passed, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction:

The first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 15.11.2022 and pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
