ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner, to direct the second respondent to register a case, based on the complaint given by the petitioner, dated 27.10.2017. 2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has submitted that one P.Rajan, who was working as Manager, during 11.07.2016 to 19.07.2017, at South Masi Street, SBI Branch, Madurai has misappropriated totally a sum of Rs.4,85,000/- and hence, a complaint was lodged before the second respondent on 27.10.2017, but, so far no action has been taken. 3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) has submitted that the enquiry is still pending.
4.Admittedly, the complaint has been lodged on 27.10.2017 by the Regional Manager of SBI, Madurai Branch against one of the Branch Managers alleging that he has misappropriated Rs.4,85,000/- https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
but, so far the second respondent has not registered the case. He has simply stated that the enquiry is still pending. The offence said to have been committed by a Nationalised Bank Manager. The money involved is the public money. It is unfortunate that the second respondent has not taken any action on the said complaint for more than three months. Hence, the second respondent is directed to expedite the enquiry and if the enquiry reveals any cognizable offence, then he has to register a case, within a week and proceed further in accordance with law.
5.With the aforesaid observations, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
