This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent to to accept the petitioner's voluntary retirement application dated 08.11.2022 and permit him to go on voluntary retirement.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner is working as Senior Grade Factory Assistant in the respondent Union. He made an application for voluntary retirement to the respondent on 08.11.2022. However, the same has not been considered. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if the respondent is directed to dispose of the application of the petitioner, dated 08.11.2022, on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period.

4. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. Since no adverse order has been passed against the respondent, notice to the 2/5

respondent is dispensed with.

5. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's application, dated 08.11.2022 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
