O R D E R
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 12.06.2024 and cancel Patta Nos.4720 and 4721 in respect of the properties comprised in Survey Nos.136/4B and 136/4C, situated at Srirangam Taluk, Tiruchirappalli District and to issue a joint patta in favour of the legal heirs of late Velayutham, within the time stipulated by this Court.
2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. Page No. 2 of 6

The grievance of the petitioner is that the properties comprised in Survey Nos.136/4 and 137/4 were purchased by the petitioner's father on 29.08.1981 in the name of his minor son, Dhanapal, represented by him as guardian. The said Dhanapal subsequently died, whereupon the petitioner's father continued in possession and enjoyment of the said properties. After the demise of the petitioner's father, his legal heirs have been in possession and enjoyment of the properties and obtained a Joint Patta bearing Patta No.3174.

However, the joint property in Survey No.136/4A was illegally subdivided into Survey Nos.136/4B and 136/4C by removing the names of the petitioner and the other legal heirs of the petitioner's father. Further, pattas bearing Patta Nos.4720 and 4721 were unlawfully issued in the name of one Amaravathi and were thereafter illegally transferred in favour of one Karthik, without any notice or enquiry.
5. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 12.06.2024 to the respondents seeking cancellation of the pattas issued in the names of the said Amaravathi and Karthik and issuance of patta in the Page No. 3 of 6
names of the legal heirs of the petitioner's father, including the petitioner. However, no action has been taken on the said representation. Hence, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.
6. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 12.06.2024 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed by the second respondent within a period of sixteen weeks.

Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 12.06.2024 and pass appropriate orders on its merits and in accordance with law within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representation shall be disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The second respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, the said Amaravathi and Karthik and any other interested parties who may be affected by such decision, before passing any order.
