ORDER

This contempt petition has been filed to punish the respondent for disobeying the order passed by this Court dated 20.01.2021 in Crl.O.P(MD) No.600 of 2021, thereby directed the respondent to complete the investigation in Crime No.78 of 2008 and file a final report within a period of six months from the date of receipt of copy of that order.

2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that due to bifurcation of Tenkasi from Tirunelveli District, the entire records has been transferred to the file of the Inspector of Police, District Crime Branch, Tenkasi and it is pending for investigation.

3.The Sub Inspector of Police, District Crime Branch, Tenkasi, is present today and stated that they are awaiting for report from the forensic laboratory, which was sent through concerned jurisdictional Magistrate. That apart, the Inspector of Police, District Crime Branch, Tenkasi, has filed a petition for extension of time to complete the investigation. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Cont.P.(MD)No.142 of 2022 4.Considering the above, the Inspector of Police, District Crime Branch, Tenkasi, is directed to complete the investigation and file a final report within a period of eighteen weeks. 5.With the above direction, this Contempt Petition is disposed of.
