PRAYER:- Petition - filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the Respondent No.1 to grant Assignment Patta to the Petitioners for the land in Survey No.691/1 to an extent of 1Acre in Kumarapuram Village Thovalai Taluk, Kanyakumari District by considering the representation dated 17.12.2020 within the time period stipulated by this Court. 1/4

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of writ of mandamus, directing the first respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioners on 17.12.2020, where the petitioners are seeking for issuance of assignment patta with respect to subject property in Survey No.691/1, Kumarapuram Village, Thovalai Taluk, Kanyakumari District.

2. Heard Mr.T.Lajapathi Roy, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.K.S.Selvaganesan, learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents.

3. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioners on 17.12.2020 and deal with the same on merits and in accordance with law and in 2/4

the light of the relevant government orders and a final decision shall be taken by the first respondent within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and the same shall be conveyed to the petitioners.
