The petitioner has come forward with this petition seeking for a direction, directing the respondents to provide adequate armed police protection to the petitioner and his family members to protect their life and limb, on the basis of the representation given by him on 10.07.2015.
2. Heard both sides.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that since there is a threat to his life, the petitioner has made a representation before the respondent police to provide adequate armed police protection to the petitioner and his family members. But, the same was not considered so far. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with this petition for the above stated relief.
4.The learned Government Advocate(Crl. Side) on instructions submitted that the petitioner has given another application for issuing licence for possessing a gun and hence, he prayed for dismissal of this petition.

5.The only objection raised by the learned Government Advocate is that the petitioner has given another application for issuing licence for possessing a gun. The same is entirely a different matter. Accordingly, the respondent police is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 10.07.2015 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of seven days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
