The prayer in this writ petition is to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to extend the lease period pertaining to the properties in S.F.Nos.280/2, 280/3, 280/4, 280/5, 280/7 and 280/8A of Soolakarai Village, Aruppukottai Taluk, Virudhunagar District, over an extent of 2.00.00 Hectares of patta land for further period of two years commencing from 23.01.2024 after excluding the COVID period of two years, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 15.01.2024. 2.

Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it is suffice if the petitioner's representation dated 15.01.2024 is directed to be considered and disposed of by the respondent within a time frame.

The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 15.01.2024 will be disposed of by the respondent within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

Recording the above submissions, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 15.01.2024 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
