PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to grant permission to conduct 'Jallikattu' on 26.01.2024 between 10.00 a.m., to 02.00 p.m., at Sri Andi Balagar Swamy Temple in the Government promote lands in Survey No.137, Semminipatty Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai District and consequently, directing the respondents 3 and 4 to provide adequate police protection, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 08.01.2024. ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by D.KRISHNAKUMAR, J.] Mr.P.Thilakkumar, learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 submitted that the Government, vide G.O.(D)No.38, Animal Husbandry, Diarying Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare (AH3-2) Department, dated 18.01.2024, granted permission for conducting Jallikattu in the petitioner's village, namely, Semminipatti on 26.01.2024. Therefore, the prayer sought for herein become infructuous.

2.In view of the subsequent development, no further order is required in this petition. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
