ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the first respondent to appoint a Superior Police officer for the investigation of a case in Crime No.460 of 2017.

2. Heard learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondents.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the daughter of the petitioner had filed a Public Interest Litigation and had taken steps to remove the encroachers in the Government land.

4. Aggrieved by the same, certain persons have entered into the property and caused huge damage to the household articles and has taken away 7 1⁄2 sovereigns of jewels. The second respondent police, in spite of registering the First Information Report, has not taken any effective steps to recover the stolen property and the investigation itself has not been properly done. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances, the

second respondent is directed to make an effective investigation and recover the stolen articles and file a final report within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The first respondent herein- the Superintendent of Police, Tuticorin is directed to monitor the investigation.

6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
