ORDER

The present petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to provide adequate police protection for erecting a fence around the petitioner's patta land in Survey No. 83/2D of Aniyappur Village, Manapparai Taluk, Trichy District.

The contention of the petitioner is that he had surveyed his property through a Taluk surveyor in Survey No.83/1A, 83/1C, 83/1D, 83/2A, 83/2B, 83/2D and 90/2 of Aniyappur village, Manaparai Taluk, and also obtained patta bearing number 3823. According to him, he is in enjoyment of the above said properties and that when he tried to put up fence around his properties, the private respondents (respondents 4 and 5) attempted to trespass into his property, on 22.08.2023 and picked up a quarrel with the petitioner. He therefore prayed for grant of police protection to him for fencing his property. 2/4

3. The dispute between the petitioner and the private respondents seems to be civil in nature and the petitioner is directed to approach appropriate civil Court to redress his grievance. The respondent police cannot interfere in any civil dispute, as per the Circular of the Additional Director General of Police, Law & Order, Tamil Nadu, in C.No.18/ ADGP/ L&O/Camp/2024, dated 09.01.2024.

4. With the above observation, this Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
