O R D E R
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the second and third respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.09.2025 and to pay compensation in respect of the land acquired in S.Nos.47/2B2 and 47/2B1A, situated at Vallakulam Village, Paramakudi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the subject land was acquired from the petitioner's mother for the purpose of laying a four-lane road. The petitioner's mother had submitted a representation to the third Page No. 2 of 7
respondent seeking compensation for the land so acquired. The third respondent issued a summons to the petitioner's mother on 01.03.2023.
4. During the enquiry, the petitioner's mother came to know that the patta in respect of the said land stood in the name of the vendor. Therefore, the petitioner's mother submitted a representation to the revenue officials seeking transfer of patta in her name. Since the said request was rejected, she filed a Writ Petition in W.P.(MD) No.17325 of 2023. This Court, by an order dated 19.07.2023, disposed of the said Writ Petition with the following directions:
"3.Recording the submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, this writ petition is disposed of with a liberty to the petitioner to approach the District Revenue Officer, Ramanathapuram within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of such application, the same shall be considered by the District Revenue Officer, Ramanathapuram/ the second respondent after ascertaining the ownership of the land and also by providing an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner within a period of twelve weeks from thereon."

5. Based on the above directions, the District Revenue Officer, Ramanathapuram, passed an order directing the revenue officials to issue patta in the name of the petitioner's mother. In the meantime, the petitioner's mother passed away. Thereafter, the petitioner along with his siblings have been taking steps to obtain compensation.
6. The petitioner submitted a representation dated 29.09.2025 to the third respondent seeking compensation. The third respondent, vide proceedings dated 24.10.2025, once again instructed the revenue authorities to issue patta. According to the petitioner, though they are the owners of the property acquired by the authorities, the third respondent has not paid compensation to the petitioner. Hence, the petitioner was constrained to file the present Writ Petition.
7. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 29.09.2025 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a period of twelve weeks. Page No. 4 of 7

Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the third and fourth respondents to enquire into the matter on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 29.09.2025 and to provide compensation as to the entitlement of the petitioner on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The third and fourth respondents are also directed to afford a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties who may be affected by such decision, before passing final orders.
