ORDER

The petitioner has filed the present petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family members.

2.Mr.T.Senthil Kumar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3, on instructions, would contend that the petitioner's representation was registered in C.S.R.No.56/2024 and enquiry is still pending.

3. M.Paramasivam, learned counsel for the petitioner would contend that they have to harvest maize from the land belonging to the petitioner's wife and the private respondents (respondents 4 to 7) are preventing the same.

4. In such circumstances, the third respondent is directed to conduct an enquiry, in C.S.R.No.56/2024 and pass appropriate orders, following the guidelines issued in the decision in D.K.Basu Vs. State of West Bengal reported in AIR (1997) SC 610.

5. With the above directions, the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
