This writ petition is listed today under the caption "For being mentioned" at the instance of the learned counsel for the petitioner.

2. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in paragraph Nos.2, 4 and 9 of the order dated 22.01.2026 passed in W.P.(MD)No.1448 of 2016, certain data and dates have wrongly been mentioned, which needs to be rectified.

3. In view of the said submissions, the paragraph Nos.2, 4 and 9 of the order dated 22.01.2026 shall be replaced with the following order: "2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner joined as a Clerk in the respondent Transport Corporation on 18.05.1987. After completion of 37 years of service, he retired from service on 31.05.2024. However, the retirement benefits, namely, Provident Fund was settled in the month of December 2025. Since the benefits have been settled belatedly, the respondent is liable to pay 1/3

interest for the belated payment. Therefore, the petitioner gave a representation dated 08.01.2026 to the respondents, however, the same did not evoke any response. Therefore, the petitioner has filed this writ petition for the above said relief.

4. It is reported on behalf of the respondents that the terminal benefits have been settled to the petitioner in the month of December 2025.

9. Following the dictum laid down on this issue, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent/Transport Corporation to pay interest for the belated payment of retirement benefits at the rate of 6% per annum from 01.06.2024 till the date of actual disbursement, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs."

4. The Registry is directed to issue fresh order copy to the parties concerned after carrying out the same.
