ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the second respondent to operate the waiting list/reserve list for Notification No.14/2019 dated 27.11.2019 for post of Lectures in Government polytechnic colleges and special Institutions (Engineering/ Non Engineering) service 2017-2018 in accordance with section 27 of Tamil Nadu Government servants (Conditions of Service) Act by considering the petitioner's representation dated 28.12.2023 within the time stipulated by this Court.
2. Heard Mr.G.Sakthi Rao, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.M.Siddharthan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 4 and Mr.VR.Shanmuganathan, learned counsel appearing for the third respondent.

3. The petitioner, who is in waiting list and also participated in the certificate verification for selection to the post of Lecturer in Government Polytechnic Colleges, has filed this writ petition.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that among the candidates who have been selected and in whose favour appointment orders have been issued by virtue of G.O.No.279 dated 21.11.2023, one person by name, Ilavarsu (Serial No.4) did not choose to join and hence, said vacancy has to be filled up from the waiting list candidates. The petitioner still stands next in the list and hence, he has given a representation to the respondent to release the appointment order in his favour.
5. The learned counsel for the third respondent submitted that the process has been started and only because of the election code of conduct, no further orders have been issued. 4/7
6. In view of the above, if the petitioner is found to be first in the waiting list, it is always open to the respondents to consider the name of the petitioner and pass orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
