(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) The writ on hand has been instituted to direct the respondents 1 to 17 to secure and safeguard the property and management of the 18th respondent Temple, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 07.01.2021.

2.With reference to the relief sought for in the present Writ Petition, the Joint Commissioner, HR & CE Department, Madurai, filed a counter-affidavit stating that steps have been taken to protect the property by evicting encroachers, in order to safe guard the Temple properties. It is the statutory duty of the authorities under the HR & CE Act to protect such properties.

3.Since the counter-affidavit filed by the Joint Commissioner, HR & CE, Madurai, indicates that action has already been initiated, no further consideration is required in this Writ Petition. 4.Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
