ORDER

The instant writ petition has been filed by a Panchayat Secretary, challenging his order of transfer from Therku Venganallur to Vadakarai Panchayat.

2.A perusal of the impugned order reveals that the Panchayat Secretary is said to have participated in the transfer counselling and on his request he has been transferred from Therku Venganallur to Vadakarai Panchayat. 3.According to the learned Counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, though the writ petitioner has participated in the transfer counselling, he requested for his retention at Therku Venganallur Panchayat on the ground that he is due to retire on 31.10.2024. However, the transfer order came to be passed as if he had requested for a transfer to Vadakarai Panchayat. 4.The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner further submits that the petitioner has suffered an amputation on his left foot. 2/4

5.Considering the fact that the petitioner is about to retire in a month's time and he has suffered an amputation on his left foot, this Court is inclined to dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the authorities to retain him at Therkku Venganallur till his retirement.

6.With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is also closed. 06.09.2024 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes / No RJR To The Block Development Officer, Panchayat Union Office, Rajapalayam.
