JUDGMENT

(Judgment of the Court was made by M.S.RAMESH,J.) The present Writ Appeal has been filed challenging the order passed by the learned Single Judge in W.P.(MD).No.17063 of 2022 dated 24.11.2022.

2. Under the Special Rules for the Tamil Nadu Basic Service, the maximum age limit contemplated therein for recruitment of Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe community candidates is 35 years, which can be extended to a further period of five years.

3. The learned Single Judge by taking note of the fact that the appellant herein had completed 40 years of age, had rejected his claim, in view of the fact

that the maximum age, after extension, cannot be above 40 years. We do not find any illegality in such finding of the learned Single Judge.

4. Accordingly, there are no merits in the Writ Appeal and the same stands dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition stands closed.
