PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the 2nd respondent to produce the person or body of the petitioner's minor son, namely, Vishnuprabu, S/o.Suresh, aged about 14 years, before this Court and hand over custody to the petitioner.

The petitioner seeks production of the person of his minor son, namely, Vishnuprabu, aged about 14 years. According to the petitioner, he left house on 30.12.2021 and First Information Report was registered in Crime No.30 of 2022 on 11.01.2022 as a boy missing case. Complaining the inaction on the part of the police, the petitioner has come up with this Habeas Corpus Petition. 2.We directed the police to file status report. Therefore, the Inspector of Police, Town North Police Station, Dindigul / second respondent has filed status report, wherein it is stated that the boy has decided to conduct a spiritual life and has claimed to have become a monk. He has also stayed in Ashram near Chennai for a week. Thereafter, he was sited at Palani from where he went to Thiruchendur.

H.C.P.(MD) No.76 of 2022 3.A perusal of the report shows that the police are taking all steps to trace the boy. It is also seen from the report that the boy has got some misunderstanding with his father. We are, therefore, of the opinion that there is no useful purpose in keeping this Habeas Corpus Petition pending. Therefore, this Habeas Corpus Petition is closed with a direction to the police to continue the investigation to its logical conclusion. If the police are able to secure the minor boy, they are directed to produce the boy before the Jurisdictional Magistrate.
