This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to mutate the patta in respect of Page No. 1 of 5

Survey No.122/1, situated at Mangadu Village, Alangudi Taluk, Pudukkottai District, in the name of the petitioner, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 29.11.2025, within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that during the partition among the legal heirs of the petitioner's father, Rajamani, the subject property was allotted to the petitioner. After the said partition, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 01.07.2022 to the respondent seeking subdivision of the property and issuance of patta in his name. However, the respondent has not taken any action on the said representation. Therefore, the petitioner again submitted a representation dated 29.11.2025, which also did not evoke any response. Hence, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's representation dated Page No. 2 of 5

29.11.2025 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a period of sixteen weeks.

Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.11.2025 and pass appropriate orders on its merits and in accordance with law within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representation shall be disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties who may be affected by such decision, before passing any order. In the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to pursue their remedies before the competent Civil Court. There shall be no order as to costs.
