O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to change the classification of the lands measuring 1.02 Acres in Survey No.121/A2 and 32 Cents in Survey No.122/A3B, situated at Tisaiyanvilai Village, Tisaiyanvilai Taluk (formerly Radhapuram Taluk), Tirunelveli District, from poramboke land to ryotwari land and consequently issue patta in favour of the petitioner.

2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the subject lands belong to the petitioner. Though the said lands were not acquired by the respondents and no compensation was ever paid to the petitioner, the revenue officials have erroneously made entries in the revenue records classifying the lands as Government poramboke. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a Page No. 2 of 5

representation dated 19.12.2025 seeking reclassification of the lands from poramboke land to ryotwari land and issuance of patta in the name of the petitioner. However, no action has been taken on the said representation. Hence, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 19.12.2025 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed by the second respondent within a period of sixteen weeks.

5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.12.2025 and pass appropriate orders on its merits and in accordance with law within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representation shall be disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The second respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other Page No. 3 of 5

interested parties who may be affected by such decision, before passing any order. In the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to pursue their remedies before the competent Civil Court. There shall be no order as to costs.
