Prayer: Criminal Original petition filed under Section 482 of Code of Criminal Procedure, to direct the respondent to register the case on the complaint dated 17.02.2018 under the 3(1)(c), 3(1)(r) & 3(1)(s) of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 as amended Act, 2015. O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct respondents to register a case based on the complaint given by the petitioner dated 17.02.2018.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner belongs to Devendrakula Velalar Community, which comes under Scheduled Caste. He further submitted that the petitioner heard the information that one Sivakumar was detained by the police and hence, the petitioner went to the police station to enquire about the aforesaid matter and at that time, one SubInspector of Police viz., Sulthan Ibrahim has abused the petitioner by telling his caste name and also assaulted him and https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

hence, the petitioner has lodged a complaint to the first respondent, but sofar, no action has been taken. 3.The learned Government Advocate(Crl.side) has submitted that the enquiry is still pending before the second respondent. 4.Considering the aforesaid submission, the second respondent is directed to expedite the enquiry and if the enquiry reveals any cognizable offence then he has to register a case and proceed in accordance with law.

5.With the aforesaid observation, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
