ORDER

The Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the learned Principal District Judge, Madurai to expedite the trial and dispose the case in S.C.No.255 of 2018.

2.The petitioner's wife viz., Rakumathnisha was murdered by his son-in-law viz., Rabeek Raj. On the complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Crime No. 225 of 2016 was registered by the respondent police. After completion of investigation, the respondent police has filed final report and the same has been taken on file in S.C.No.255 of 2018 pending on the file of the Principal District Judge, Madurai. He would further submit that though the case was posted for framing of charges on 02.11.2018 and thereafter, the case was pending without any progress and it has been repeatedly adjourned. Hence, the present petition is filed. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent would submit that final report has been filed by the respondent on 27.07.2016 and the same has been taken on file in S.C.No.

255 of 2018 by the Principal District Judge, Madurai. He would further submit that there are 18 witnesses in this case and now it is pending for framing of charges from 02.11.2018. 4.It is seen that the case has been registered in the year 2015. Though, charge sheet has been filed in the year 2016, it has not been disposed of so far.

Crl.O.P.[MD].No.1648 of 2020 5.In view of the same, a direction is issued to the Principal District Judge, Madurai to dispose S.C.No.255 of 2018 within a period of six Months from the date of next hearing date. 6.With the above direction, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
