For Respondent : Mr.E.Antony Sahaya Prabahar Additional Public Prosecutor PETITION FOR BAIL Under Section 439 of Cr.P.C. PRAYER :- For Bail in Crime No.682 of 2020 on the file of the Respondent police.

ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner/A.1, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 23.05.2021 for the offences punishable under Sections 8 (c) r/w 20(b)(ii)(C) and 29(1) of NDPS Act, in Crime No.682 of 2020, on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail. 2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner and other accused were found in illegal possession of 25 kgs of Ganja. Hence, the complaint.

3.When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the learned trial Judge has completed the examination of all the witnesses except the Investigating Officer and the case stands posted for examination of the Investigating Officer.

4.Since the trial is at the fag end, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this point of time. However, this Court is of the view that the trial Court may be directed to complete the trial within a time frame fixed by this Court. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

CRL OP(MD). No.1453 of 2022 5.Accordingly, the learned Judge is directed to complete the trial and dispose of the case as expeditiously as possible preferably, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
