ORDER

Seeking to direct the 2nd respondent police not to harass the petitioner under the guise of enquiry on the basis of the petitioner's representation, dated 18.01.2026, this criminal original petition is filed.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that surprisingly on one day an amount of Rs.16,00,000/- was credited in his account bearing no.610705019346 at ICICI Bank, Paramakudi Branch. Immediately the petitioner had properly intimated the same to the Bank. However, the respondent police is subjecting him to harassment and hence, this petition.

3. The learned Government Advocate submitted that a senior citizen of aged 70 years was threatened by unknown persons and compelled him to transfer all the money in his account to various unknown accounts, and petitioner's account is one among the same. On investigation, it is revealed that on several times, the petitioner has received certain amount from the senior citizen's account. An amount of 2/4

Rs.16,00,000/- has been credited in the account of the petitioner. Only in this regard, the petitioner was called for inquiry and no harassment was caused. He has been added as accused in Crime No.41 of 2025 on the file of the 2nd respondent police station.

4. Directing the petitioner to work out his remedy in accordance with the Code of Criminal Procedure, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
