ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's application dated 12.08.2025 and issue 2C patta in respect of the lands situated in Survey Nos.480, 481, 482, 485, 487/2 and 492 of the Malaiyadiputhur Village, Nanguneri Taluk, within stipulated period as fixed by this Court.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is the lawful owner and is in possession of the subject properties and he submitted an application dated 12.08.2025 requesting 2C patta in respect of the subject properties in his name. However, the respondents have not considered the said application till date. Hence, the petitioner has been constrained to approach this Court by way of filing the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submits that the petitioner's application will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed on merits and in accordance with law.

Recording the aforesaid submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 12.08.2025, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The application shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The second respondent is directed to provide reasonable opportunity during such enquiry to the petitioner and any other persons, who may be affected by such decision. Needless to state that in the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to work out their remedies before the Civil Court. There shall be no order as to costs.
