ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to rectify the error occurred in the FMB sketch in respect of the extent as 3 3⁄4 cents instead of 30 cents of the petitioner's land comprised in UDR S.No.100/4, S.No.102/4, situated at No.46, Arumpanur 1st Pit Village, Madurai North Taluk (Old), Madurai East Taluk (New), Thamaraipatti Sub District, Madurai (North) East Registration District, Madurai District.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the absolute owner of the land comprised in UDR Survey No.100/4 and Survey No.102/4, situated at Arumpanur 1st Pit Village, Madurai District. Due to an apparent clerical/measurement error, the extent of the petitioner's land has been wrongly reflected in the FMB sketch as 33⁄4 cents instead of the actual extent of 30 cents. It is submitted that the said error in the FMB sketch has caused serious prejudice to the petitioner and is affecting his lawful enjoyment and

dealings with the property. Despite the petitioner bringing the said discrepancy to the notice of the respondents by way of a detailed representation dated 03.12.2025 and seeking rectification, no effective action has been taken so far. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5. Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation 03.12.2025, on merits and and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law after providing reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, and any other persons, who may be affected by such decision, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
