PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 4 to renew the petitioner's Indian Passport No.N9950620 which was issued on 11.05.2016 and valid up to 10.05.2026.

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus as against the 4th respondent for re-issuance of the passport based upon the request made by the petitioner dated 11.05.2016.

2. The learned Government Advocate(crl.side) appearing for the 5th respondent brought to the notice of the Court that the petitioner has been implicated in a criminal case in Cr.No.148 of 2024 on the file of the 5th respondent which has culminated in filing of a charge sheet in C.C.No.451 of 2024 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No.II, Kulithurai District.

3. In view of the above said facts, the petitioner is directed to approach the concerned trial Court seeking the permission of the Court to go abroad. In case if any such application is filed, the same shall be disposed of within a 2/4

period of four weeks. Based upon the orders to be passed by concerned trial Court, the 4th respondent is directed to proceed in accordance with law.

4. With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
