********** This Writ Petition is filed for a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to issue patta in the Petitioner's name in respect of the Petitioner's property to an extent of 2400 sq.ft(Plot No.615 and 616 of Ezhil Nagar) in S.No.102/8A at T.Kunnathur Bit-I Revenue Village, Peraiyur Taluk, Madurai District by considering the Petitioner's representation, dated 22.11.2024. 2.Mr.M.Muthumanikkam, learned Government Advocate (Civil Side) takes notice for the respondents 1 and 2. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3.The Petitioner purchased the subject property under registered sale deed in Document No.5842/2012 from one Ganesan. The Petitioner's vendor was issued patta by the first respondent. The Petitioner in order to transfer the patta in her name, made an online application and the same was not accepted. The Petitioner therefore, approached the first respondent in person and thereafter, the Pettioner was advised to make an offline application.The Petitioner therefter submitted a representation, dated 22.11.2024 to the first respodnent for transfer of patta in her name. Even though the representation was

submitted as early as on 22.11.2024, no action was taken by the first respondent and therefore, the Petitioner was constrained to file the above Writ Petition for the aforesaid relief. 4.It is seen that the Petitioner purchased the subject property from one Ganesan on 2.8.2012.The Petitioner's vendor was issued patta by the first respondent in Patta No.2245 under Section 10 of the Patta Passbook Act.The Petitioner applied for transfer of patta in her name. It is seen that the first respondent has not initiated any action on the Petitioner's representation even after a lapse of three months. I am therefore inclined to direct the first respondent is directed to follow the procedure contemplated under Section 10 of the Patta Passbook Act r/w Rule 4(2) of the Patta passbook Act and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.The writ Petition is accordingly disposed of.
