This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant annual increments from the year 2009 to 2011 and to award Selection Grade pay in the year 2012 and consequently revise the petitioner's pay scale from the year 2013 onwards and to pay the terminal benefits within the time frame fixed by this Court.
2. The case of the petitioner is that he joined as Secondary Grade Teacher in the fifth respondent School in the year 2002 and his appointment was approved by the educational authorities with effect from 28.02.2002. He retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation ie., on 31.05.2022. However, the terminal benefits and other annual increment, selection grade pay and the revised pay scale were not paid to the petitioner. Hence, he has made a detailed representation to the respondents on 02.01.2023. Since the said representation has not been considered by the respondents, the present writ petition has been filed.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that this Court may issue a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.01.2023 and pass appropriate orders within a reasonable time as fixed by this Court.
4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
5. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.01.2023 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
