[Order of the Court was made by M.DURAISWAMY, J.] The petitioner has filed the above writ petition as a public interest litigation seeking for a direction to the third respondent to grant permission for conducting Vadamaadu Manju Virattu event, on 09.02.2020, at Sirugudi, Natham Taluk, Dindigul District, by including the name of the village of Sirugudi in Dindigul District Gazette.

It is the case of the petitioner that the name of Sirugudi Village was not included in the Government Gazette, dated 21.01.2017 and therefore, he has given a representation, dated 20.01.2020, to the respondents to include the name of the said village name in the Government Gazette and grant permission to conduct Manju Virattu event on 09.02.2020.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would be suffice, instead of granting permission to the petitioner to conduct the event, to direct the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 20.01.2020 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law. 4.
Mr.V.R.Shanmuganathan, learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents, submitted that the petitioner may be directed to give a fresh representation to the first respondent seeking for the relief as stated above, and thereafter, the first respondent may be directed to consider the petitioner's representation and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law.
5. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner undertakes to submit a fresh representation to the first respondent seeking for the relief as stated above, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing on either side and taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, we direct the petitioner to give a fresh representation seeking for the relief as stated above to the first respondent, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and on receipt of the same, the first respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of the fresh representation from the petitioner.

7. With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
