ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by N.SATHISH KUMAR, J.) The petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition challenging the impugned G.O.(Ms)No.10 dated 17.01.2022, G.O.(Ms) No.11 dated 17.01.2022, and G.O.(Ms)No.12 dated 17.01.2022 issued by the second respondent, and consequently seeking a direction to the second respondent to issue fresh Government Orders by following the rule of reservation for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (18 + 1) as laid down under Article 3/6

243(T) of the Constitution of India, the Tamil Nadu District Municipalities Act, 1920, and the Tamil Nadu Town Panchayats, Municipalities and Corporations (Delimitation of Wards or Division and Reservation) Rules, 1996, in respect of Municipal Corporations, Municipalities, and Town Panchayats in Tamil Nadu, and further to direct the second respondent to reserve Tirunelveli Corporation and Thoothukudi Corporation for Scheduled Castes in the Urban Local Bodies Elections, 2022, within the time stipulated by this Court.

2.Admittedly, the elections have already been completed in the year 2022.

3.In view of the above, no further direction is required in this Writ Petition.

4.Accordingly, this Writ Petition is closed. If any such reservation is made in the future, liberty is granted to the petitioner to 4/6

challenge the same in the manner known to law. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
