ORDER

This petition is filed to direct the 3rd respondent herein to investigate and file a report in Crime No.555 of 2017 on the file of the Inspector of Police, City Crime Branch, Trichy in an expeditious manner.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor.

3. The case in Crime No.555 of 2017 was originally registered in the year 2017 and as per the status report now filed by the CBCID, the case was transferred to CBCID on 07.01.2019 and FIR has been registered in Crime No.1 of 2019. The status report further discloses that already the investigation has commenced, statements of some 7 witnesses have been obtained, besides detailing the other aspects of investigation. It is also submitted that there was a brief halting in the investigation due to the General Elections in 2019.

4. Now, the Elections are over. Therefore, this Court directs the Investigating Agency to complete the investigation within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With this direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
