ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent transfer the Patta from the name of the second respondent namely, Jothilakhsmi to in favour of the petitioner favour in respect of 10 cents, comprised in Old Survey Nos.567/1i and 567/1o, New Survey Nos. 567/101, 567/102 and 567/103, situated at Narayanapuram Part - I Village, Vasudevanallur Municipality, Sivagiri Taluk, Tirunelveli District (Presently at Tenkasi District), by considering his Online Application dated 02.01.2026.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. Since no adverse orders are going to be passed against the second respondent, notice to the second respondent is hereby dispensed with.

4. According to the petitioner, he is the lawful owner of the property in question. The petitioner submitted an application for patta transfer bearing Application No.2026/0103/34/000093 dated 02.01.2026, along with all necessary documents, to the first respondent. Despite the same, no action has been taken till

date. The inaction on the part of the first respondent is arbitrary and contrary to law. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to effect patta transfer within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent submits that the petitioner's application will be considered on its merits and appropriate orders will be passed in accordance with law.

Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 02.01.2026, on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The application shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The first respondent is directed to provide reasonable opportunity during such enquiry to the petitioner, the second respondent and any other persons, who may be affected by such decision.
