ORDER

Heard the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents.

2. The petitioner is an official witness in a criminal case. The case is posted for hearing on 03.02.2022 before the learned Judicial Magistrate, Palani. The petitioner states that he is apprehensive about his safety. Therefore, the fourth respondent is https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD)No.1713 of 2022 directed to give protection to the petitioner so as to enable the petitioner to tender evidence in a free state of mind. The petitioner can co-ordinate with the fourth respondent in this regard.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) is directed to share the mobile number of the fourth respondent with the petitioner herein. The protection to the petitioner will be given from the moment the petitioner enters Palani limits and till he leaves the same. The protection will be given on those days, the petitioner has to tender evidence. This writ petition is allowed on these terms. No costs.
