Contemnors/Respondents Prayer: Contempt Petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, to initiate Contempt Proceedings against the Contemnors / Respondents and punish them for the willful disobedience of the order of the Honourable High Court in WP(MD). No.8958 of 2021 dated 01-06-2021 under the Contempt of Court Act. Prayer in WP(MD). 8958/ 2021 :

Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ, Order or Direction or any other writ in the nature of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to pay the interest to the petitioner at the rate of 12 percentage per annum for the belayed disbursement of Rs.28,74,820/- towards his retirement benefits namely Provident Fund, Gratuity and Leave Salary from the date of https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

P.(MD) No.248 of 2022 his retirement i.e. on 31.07.2019 upto the date of full settlement on 21.01.2021 by considering the petitioners Representations dated 16.04.2021 and within the time frame as fixed by this honble Court and for other reliefs and to pass such further or other orders as this Honble Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case and thus render justice.

O R D E R

The learned counsel for the respondents and the learned counsel for the petitioner made a submission that the order passed in the writ petition has been complied with. However, 6% interest, as applicable to the commutation alone is yet to be paid.

2. Thus, the respondents have to look into the issue regarding payment of interest for commutation, in accordance with rules and settle the same accordingly. The Contempt petition stands closed.
