Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue writ of mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to pay the petitioner a sum of Rs.5,00,000/-as compensation and Rs.3,000/- per month as monthly maintenance from 25/11/2011 as per the judgment of the Honourable III Additional District and Sessions Court, Madurai rendered in spl.c.c.no.8 of 2013 dated 10/02/2017. ORDER

When the contempt petition is taken up for hearing today, Mr.T.Anbalagan, Collector, Madurai District is present today through video platform and his present is recorded. 2.The learned Additional Government Pleader representing the Collector/respondent would submit that the accumulative arrears of monthly payment has been deposited now. CONT.P(MD)No.299 of 2021 3.Although, the learned Counsel for the petitioner expressed further apprehension that the monthly payment may not be disbursed promptly, this Court is not inclined to keep the matter pending on such apprehension and leave it open to the petitioner to urge, in case need arises in future. As on date, the authorities have complied with the order and in that view of the matter, the Contempt Petition cannot be kept pending. Therefore, the Contempt Petition is closed.
