ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to issue a joint patta in respect of the land comprised in Rayathuwari Punja, New Survey No.3852/2A2, Old Survey No.3852/2APT, Block No.35C, Part-II, Ward No.2, Door No.9/2, Sivanthakulam 1st Street, Thoothukudi Town, Thoothukudi District, by considering the petitioner's application dated 31.12.2025.
2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is entitled to issuance of a joint patta in respect of the subject property situated in Rayathuwari Punja, Thoothukudi District. The petitioner has submitted an application dated 31.12.2025 seeking issuance of joint patta; however, the respondents have failed to consider and dispose of the same in accordance with law. Hence, the present Writ Petition.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 submits that the petitioner's application will be considered on its merits and appropriate orders will be passed in accordance with law.
5. Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the fourth respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 31.12.2025, on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The application shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The fourth respondent is directed to provide reasonable opportunity during such enquiry to the petitioner, and any other persons, who may be affected by such decision. In
