Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the District Revenue Officer, Ramanathapuram, the first respondent herein to dispose of the appeal in number B5/43501/2021 dated 14.09.2021 on the file of the District Revenue Officer, Ramanathapuram within a stipulated period.

ORDER

Heard Mr.S.Siva Thilakar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.D.Ghandiraj, learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice on behalf of the first respondent.

2. In view of the nature of the order passed, notice is not directed to respondents 2 to 11.

3. The Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of Mandamus seeking a direction against the first respondent / the District Revenue Officer, Ramanathapuram District, to examine and dispose of an appeal bearing No.B5/43501/2021 preferred on 14.09.2021 relating to UDR patta.

4. Since the matter is now pending before the first respondent / the District Revenue Officer, Ramanathapuram District, it will be extremely inappropriate for this Court to enter into a discussion on the merits of the case.

5. It is informed by Mr.D.Ghandiraj, learned Special Government Pleader that notices had been served on all the contesting parties by the first respondent yesterday / 27.01.2022 and the hearing date is fixed on 18.02.2022.

6. Giving leverage for some reasonable adjournments by all the parties and for inquiries to be conducted, a direction is given to the first respondent to dispose of the appeal on or before 31.05.2022.

7. With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
