ORDER

The present petition is filed to direct the respondent police to expedite the investigation in Crime No.104 of 2017 dated 18.08.2017 and to file the final report within a stipulated time.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the investigation in this case is completed and final report has also been laid before the learned Judicial Magistrate, Pudukottai on 25.08.2018, but till date it has not been taken on file.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that in spite of his best efforts to ascertain the stage of the matter from the Judicial Magistrate Court, the petitioner was not able to obtain any positive statement about filing of the final report in the Court.

5. Acting on the submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Court holds that nothing survives for further adjudication in this petition. Having stated that the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Registry is directed to obtain an explanation from the learned Magistrate as to why the final report laid before it on 25.08.2018 is not yet taken on file.

6. With the above direction, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
