O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the second respondent to file a final report in Crime No.68 of 2017, within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that on 18.03.2017, when the petitioner and her husband along with their daughter were travelling in their Two Wheeler at Theni main road, Virathipattu Benner Colony, near Door. No.1, Sampath's house at about 2.40 p.m., one van came in the opposite direction and the Driver of the said van, drove the said van with rash and negligent manner and hit against the Two Wheeler in which the petitioner and their family members were travelling and after the said occurrence, the van Driver without stopping the Van drove the van and escaped from the scene of occurrence. He further submitted that in the said occurrence, the petitioner's husband died and the petitioner sustained serious injuries, but, so far, the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

second respondent has not identified the van and because of not identifying the said van, the petitioner and her daughter are not in a position to file a petition seeking compensation.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that the second respondent is taking effective steps to identify the offending vehicle and he seeks some more time for filing a final report.

4. Considering the aforesaid submissions, the second respondent is directed to take effective steps to identify the offending vehicle and file a final report in Crime No. 68 of 2017, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
