For Petitioner :

Mr.A.Kannan Additional Government Pleader

O R D E R

Heard Mr.S.V.Karthikeyan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.A.Kannan, learned Additional Government Pleader, appearing for the respondent.

2. This contempt arises on account of the fact that the Revenue Divisional Officer, Palani, Dindigul District, had not disposed of the appeal preferred by the petitioner on 20.06.2024, as directed by this Court.

3. When the matter came up for consideration on 21.02.2025, Mr.A.Kannan, learned Additional Government Pleader, took notice on behalf of the respondent and stated that he will get instructions and report to this Court on the next hearing date. Hence, I adjourned the matter to today.

4. Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, Mr.A.Kannan, learned Additional Government Pleader, submitted that the appeal preferred by the petitioner on 20.06.2024 has been disposed of on 28.02.2025 and to that effect, he has produced a copy of the proceedings of

the Sub Collector, Palani, in Na.Ka.No.9647/2024/A7, dated 28.02.2025, before this Court.

5. Though there is a delay in disposal of the appeal preferred by the petitioner, since there has been a subsequent compliance of the orders passed by this Court, I am not inclined to initiate contempt proceedings against the respondent.

6. Accordingly, this contempt petition is closed. However, it is left open to the petitioner to challenge the above proceedings of the Sub Collector, Palani, in the manner known to law, if he is so advised. 06.03.2025 NCC :
