5.The Commissioner, Tirunelveli Corporation, Tirunelveli City : Respondents PRAYER: Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to laying the proper comprehensive road between Tirunelveli Junction - Tirunelveli Town - Pudu Pettai and all the surrounding roads namely SN High Road, South Mount Road, West Mount Road, Courtallam Road belongs to State Highways Department and Tirunelveli Corporation by considering the representation dated 23.01.2021 made by the petitioner within the time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH, J.) The petitioner has come forward to file this writ petition seeking a Writ of Mandamus against the respondents to lay the road along with the other roads surrounding.

2. It appears that some of the roads within the jurisdiction of the respondent Nos.1 to 3 and the other respondent no.5 got damaged.

3. The learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents 1 to 3 submitted that the damages occurred in view of the laying of the pipelines for water connection. There is also work proposed to lay underground drainage. After the completion of the aforesaid work, the needful would be done.

4.The learned counsel for the respondent No.5 submitted that upon inspection, the road coming under its jurisdiction would be relaid.

5.The submission made by both the counsels stands recorded and the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the respondents to see to it that the roads are accordingly laid properly. The aforesaid exercise will have to be completed within three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
