This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents, particularly, the third respondent to conduct an inquiry over patta No.1859 and add the petitioner's name in the patta in respect of the land situated in Survey No.197/16 at Piranpatty Village, Singampunari Taluk, Sivagangai District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 03.01.2024.
2. The case of the petitioner is that in the year 1960, the petitioner's mother purchased the petition mentioned property comprised in Survey No.197/16 measuring to an extent of 22 cents. Thereafter, the petitioner's mother died in the year 2021. Subsequently, when the petitioner, approached the Registering authorities, he came to know that the name of the petitioner's mother is not included in the joint patta. Therefore, on 03.01.2024, the petitioner made a representation before the respondents along with relevant documents, seeking to issue patta in the name of the petitioner in respect of the above said 22 cents. Since no steps have been taken by the respondents, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

Considering the above facts, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 03.01.2024 and pass appropriate orders, after conducting enquiry and after providing opportunity to all the parties concerned, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
