PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for records pertaining to the impugned order in Ka.No.Po/E(Ma)Pa/Ni/Vadakku/Kumba/Ko.Rathu/A.No. 108/25-26/dated 23.09.2025 passed by the respondent and quash the same as illegal and consequently direct the respondent to effect name transfer and to provide three phase connection with respect to property in S.F.No.2445, Alwan Kovil Street, Kumbakonam Taluk, Thanjavur District. ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking to quash the order passed by the respondent herein wherein the request of the petitioner to provide electricity service connection has been rejected.

2. A perusal of the records reveal that the petitioner's father is a defendant in O.S.No.436 of 2024, before the Additional Sub Court, Kumbakonam and the said Court has granted an order of status quo in I.A.No.53 of 2025 not to proceed with the construction activities till the partition suit is disposed of. Citing the said status quo order, the respondent herein has chosen to reject the request of the petitioner.

3. In view of the above said facts, the order impugned in the writ petition cannot be found fault with. In case, if the petitioner has completed the construction and wants to get a service connection, it is for the petitioner to move the same Court seeking permission of the Court to get service connection.

4. With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
