ORDER
(1)The present petition is filed by the State to extend the time granted by this Court by order dated 25.04.2024, in Crl.OP.(MD).No.4560/2024 and Crl.MP.(MD).No.3568/2024, for a further period of six months to complete the investigation in Crime No.7/2022 on the file of the Vigilance and Anti Corruption Detachment, Madurai, and to file the Final Report.
(2)This Court, by order dated 25.04.2024, directed the respondent police to complete the investigation in Cr.No.7/2022 within a period of nine months from the date of receipt of a copy of that order, with liberty to the respondent herein to file a fresh quash petition to quash the Final Report. (3)The petitioner, in the affidavit filed in support of the petition, has stated that though this Court has granted 9 months time to complete the investigation, because the network of the offence is very wide, opening many doors and even having underground operations, it was necessary to extend the time to cull out the real facts connecting the accused persons, namely, A1 to A4 with A5 to A8, of the crime. The petitioner also states that considering the magnitude of the case, time given by this Court was
insufficient and therefore, further period of six months may be granted to complete the investigation.
(4)This Court, being satisfied with the aforesaid reasons, is inclined to allow the petition.
(5)Accordingly, this Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is allowed and the petitioner is granted a further period of six months to complete the investigation in Crime NO.7/2022 pending on its file. 28.01.2026 AP To 1.The Inspector of Police Vigilance and Anti Corruption Madurai.
