This Writ Petition has been filed to call for the records pertaining to the impugned order dated 19.01.2026 passed by the 3rd respondent on the representation dated 17.01.2026 submitted by the petitioner and quash the same as arbitrary and illegal and consequently direct the respondents 1 to 3 herein to grant permission and adequate police protection to the petitioner to conduct the candidate introduction meeting for the Thiruvadanai Assembly constituency at Paavodi Ground, East Coast Road, Thondi Townm, Thiruvadanai Taluk, Ramanathapuram District on 23.01.2026 as sought in the representation dated 17.01.2026 within a reasonable time framed by this Court.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned 2/5
Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondents.
3. The respondents submitted that the said place has not been granted to any person, however, they expressed their readiness and willingness to grant permission at a location opposite the Thondi Bus Stand, subject to all conditions applicable to such permissions.
4. Having considered the aforesaid submission and the overall facts of the case, this Court permits the petitioner to conduct the candidate introduction meeting for the Thiruvadanai Assembly Constituency at the venue opposite the Thondi Bus Stand, in compliance with all conditions applicable to the grant of such permission.
5. Accordingly, the impugned order passed by the 3rd respondent, dated 19.01.2026 is hereby quashed and this Writ Petition is allowed. No costs.
