This petition has been filed to direct the second respondent to register a case based on the complaint given by the petitioner dated 11.12.2017.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner was working as Projectionist in Gandhigramam Institute of Rural Health and Family Welfare, Gandhigramam. The third respondent, who is also working in the same institute, has abused the petitioner by using filthy language and criminally intimated him. Due to which, the petitioner has suffered great mental agony and has consumed excessive sleeping tablets with an intention to commit suicide. However, due to severe treatment given to him he got recovered. With regard to the aforesaid occurrence the petitioner has lodged a complaint before the second respondent on 11.12.2017.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner further submitted that after filing of the above petition, the Sub Inspector of Police and the Special Sub Inspector of Police of Ambaturai Police station have called the petitioner for enquiry. Accordingly, the petitioner has appeared before the second respondent (Inspector of Police) and on such appearance the second respondent enquired the petitioner and stated that he should withdraw the complaint otherwise a case will be filed against him, but sofar, no action has been taken on the petitioner's complaint.

4.The learned Government Advocate has submitted that after receipt of the complaint enquiry has been conducted. He further submitted that already a case has been registered against the petitioner and six others in Crime No.301 of 2016 under Sections 147, 341, 294(b) and 353 IPC and in order to escape from that case, the petitioner has lodged a complaint and further action on the said complaint has been dropped.

5.Considering the aforesaid submissions, the second respondent is directed to send a communication to the petitioner with regard to the action taken on the petitioner's complaint by a registered post within a week. It is open to the petitioner to avail any other remedy available under the law.

6.With the aforesaid observations, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
